Green & Offshore Korea which takes place once every two years, is one of the world’s leading maritime and offshore energy gatherings. Green & Offshore Korea 2022 was hosted by the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry, & Energy and Busan Metropolitan city. This event was organized by Busan Marine Equipment Association, BEXCO, KYUNGYON, KOTRA and KOSHIPA. This event was specially sponsored by the top 3 Korean shipyards – Hyundai Heavy Industries, Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering and Samsung Heavy Industries.
6th Green & Offshore Korea kicked off at BEXCO, Busan from 12th to 14th of October. 153 companies from 11 countries participated in this year’s exhibition, 400 booths were installed to display the futuristic environment friendly marine technology and 9,986 people sighted the exhibition. Unlike previous ‘OFFSHORE KOREA’ this year’s event was held under the slogan of ‘Energy Transition from Oil to Green Renewable Energy’. To cope the global warming, eco-friendly technologies like ammonia, fuel cells, and hydrogen were also displayed because of increasing demand of renewable energy resources. Hence, previously known as OFFSHORE KOREA has become ‘Green & Offshore Korea’ from this year.
With eco-friendliness becoming the trend of modern industry, it is important for global industries to pay close attention to adopting green renewable energy.
Al Zaman Group ‘AZG’ is a group of globally spread Iraqi, Jordanian, Turkish, British, and Korean companies serving in the fields of Shipbuilding, Engineering, Oil & Gas and Green Energy. On the Other hand, K-Marine is a South Korean company that designs and manufactures eco-friendly zero carbon emission solar boats, hovercrafts, and Air boats.
AZG participated in this event as a potential buyer and foreign investment entity and held meetings and discussions with more than 10 companies with an aim to promote Green Renewable Energy in Middle East. AZG and K-Marine took first step towards the beginning of Green Energy in Middle East by signing an MOU at Green & Offshore Plaza (GOMP 2022).
AZG was the one and only Iraqi company to participate in Green & Offshore 2022. AZG intends to actively take part in any similar future events not only in Korea but also in all major events in the region and keep on representing Iraqi flag as always.
This MOU is only a beginning, but it is a promise towards a sustainable development of marine industry.
AZG plans to install a factory and related facilities in Iraq to manufacture Hovercrafts and eco-friendly Solar boats with cooperation of K-Marine to promote green renewable energy in the region.
