Al Zaman Group (AZG) Concludes Successful Participation at KORMARINE 2025

Al Zaman Group (AZG) proudly concluded its successful participation in KORMARINE 2025, the largest international marine, shipbuilding, and maritime equipment exhibition in Korea. This year’s edition gathered global leaders and innovators from across the maritime industry — and AZG stood out as the only Iraqi company participating in this prestigious event.

Throughout the four-day exhibition, AZG showcased its latest projects, initiatives, and strategic vision for the advancement of Iraq’s maritime capabilities. The company’s booth attracted strong interest from visitors, suppliers, and manufacturers, serving as a dynamic platform for collaboration and dialogue on future maritime ventures.

AZG’s participation received notable recognition and encouragement from the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Seoul.

Mr. Ali Mussa Albaker, Deputy Head of Mission, spent three days in Busan engaging with various Korean suppliers and manufacturers and expressed his appreciation for AZG’s efforts in representing Iraq on an international stage.

Dr. Odey Mohammed, Commercial Attaché of the Iraqi Embassy, also visited AZG’s booth during the second and third days of the exhibition, emphasizing the embassy’s commitment to supporting Iraqi businesses expanding into global markets.

One of the major highlights of AZG’s participation was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Korea Hoverjet, a leading Korean hovercraft manufacturer known for delivering advanced solutions to police, fire, and private sectors.
This collaboration was made possible through the support and facilitation of the Iraq–Korea Business Council (IKBC) and KOTRA.

The MoU marks an important step toward introducing advanced Korean marine technology into Iraq’s domestic manufacturing ecosystem.

AZG has an established history of building several large and small vessels in South Korea for Iraqi authorities. Building on that experience, the company is currently constructing a new manufacturing facility in Baghdad, dedicated to the production of small and medium-sized boats.
This facility, powered by Korean technology and expertise, represents a significant milestone in Iraq’s efforts to localize maritime manufacturing. Over time, AZG plans to expand production capabilities and diversify its product range, further contributing to Iraq’s industrial growth.

In addition to exhibiting, AZG was officially invited by KOTRA to take part in the B2B Business Meetings held alongside KORMARINE 2025.

Represented by Mr. Abdullah Shaban, Director of AZG, the company met with numerous potential suppliers and partners from across Korea, exploring opportunities for future cooperation and technology transfer.

AZG’s participation in KORMARINE 2025 reaffirmed its role as a bridge between Iraq and the global maritime industry. By representing Iraq at one of the world’s leading shipbuilding events, AZG continues to position itself as a key player in modernizing Iraq’s naval and maritime capabilities, while strengthening international partnerships built on innovation, trust, and shared progress.
