Al Zaman Group has signed a partnership agreement with the Iraqi Military Industries/ State Company for Military Industries (SCMI) for the construction and operation of a factory for the manufacturing, assembly and maintenance of military boats and marine units. The factory will have seral production lines for the construction of Fiberglass & Aluminium Boats. The land consists of Factory, warehouse, administration and accommodation building & show room.
Al Zaman Group vision is to develop the manufacturing industry in Iraq and participate in growing the opportunities through the construction of small to medium size boats at this factory. This will be the start to proceed with the construction of a shipyard city in Basra for the manufacturing and repair of steel ships.
Work for the establishment of this factory has been started already and where the progress is moving in a fast pace, since Al Zaman Group project management team are following up closely with the designers & subcontractors to complete the construction work of the factory.
On 20th July 2024, laying of groundwork was made under the patronage of His Excellency the Prime Minister and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces Mr. Mohammad Shyaa Al Sudani. His Excellency has visited the project site and groundwork in the presence of Al Zaman Group representatives, in which His Excellency encouraged national manufacturing and urge to start production at soonest.
On 19th Sep 2024, the CEO of Al Zaman Group (Mr. Ahmed Shaban) has visited the project site and follow up with quality control personnel who are supervising the foundation structure for the buildings. In addition, a meeting was held with the Director General of Military Industries Company Mr. Naseef Nayef to discuss the project and factory construction progress as well as future work and services that will be provided by Al Zaman Group to end user.
