AZG at Turkish-Iraqi General Trade and Contracting Program Conference

Participation of Al-Zaman Group and its Supporting Partner, PRO DGS Turkish Company, in the Turkish-Iraqi General Trade and Contracting Program Conference Sponsored by TIM (Turkiye İhracat Meclisi) with the Presence of the Turkish and Iraqi Foreign Ministers

The conference was attended by His Excellency Iraq’s Minister of Trade, Mr. Atheer Al-Ghurairi, and Turkey’s Minister of Trade, Dr. Omer Bolat, in addition to the esteemed President of the Turkish Exporters Association, Mr. Mustafa Gültepe, and the esteemed President of the Iraqi Chambers of Commerce Union, Mr. Abdul Razaq Al-Zuhairi, alongside a group of prominent business leaders from both sides.

The conference aimed to develop economic and trade relations between Turkey and Iraq and to enhance mutual cooperation across various industries such as construction, contracting, and heavy industries. Iraq is moving towards urban growth, progress, and construction, as well as implementing strategic state projects such as the Grand Faw Port and the Development Road, which will position Iraq as a hub for trade renewal between East and West.

The Turkish side expressed its willingness to encourage Turkish investors and exporting companies to collaborate with Iraq. Conversely, the Iraqi side emphasized its interest in trade activities with Turkey, especially with the presence of a joint strategic project between the two countries—the Development Road.

Meetings were held during the conference with major Turkish companies participating in the event, including those currently operating in Iraq and those seeking to enter the Iraqi market and offer their services. Discussions focused on ways to foster mutual cooperation to revive projects and contribute to the urban development Iraq is experiencing.
