On December 16, 2024, a live interview was conducted at the UTV satellite channel studio during the “Sabahkum” program, featuring Mr. Abdullah Shaban from Al-Zaman Group. He was invited to speak about the successful participation in the TEDx Baghdad conference as a speaker.
Mr. Abdullah Shaban highlighted the importance of preparation and training for such an event, particularly regarding the topic presented at the conference: the significance of establishing a shipyard in Iraq. The discussion also covered the importance of transferring expertise and technology to Iraq through education, training Iraqi professionals, and building new infrastructure to support the shipbuilding industry.
During the interview, the topic of the Iraqi flag registry was also addressed, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and knowledge transfer to ensure compliance with all International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards. This would enable Iraqi ships to carry the national flag and enhance the status of Iraq’s commercial and oil ports.
