Al Zaman Group (AZG) has participated as a vendor for the third time at the IQDEX in Baghdad. This year a AZG booth won the impression of all visitors because two boats were presented for show and sale at AZG booth.
DIC (Iraqi Defence Industries Commission) have its own pavilion at the exhibition. This Institute (DIC) Belongs and reports directly to the Prime Minister office, in which it gains big support from the Prim Minister to encourage national industries and support local factories.
															
															Since AZG has signed a joint venture agreement with Iraq Defence Industries Commission (DIC) for the construction of a Factory to build, assemble and maintain fiberglass and aluminium boats, AZG booth was located at the DIC Pavillion in the exhibition.
															
															The factory consists of several buildings including the main building (workshop), warehouse, administration building, accommodation building and other facilities.
The whole complex is expected to be completed within two months.
The main building (workshop) have two production lines, Fiberglass and Aluminium Production line and it is already completed, where the molds and production process for fiberglass boats production line took place.
The CNC machine is installed, it will be used to cut Aluminium (and steel) for the Aluminum boats production line.
															
															
															
															At the Exhibition, AZG has presented two boats, a 7.2m & 4.95m Fiberglass Boats. Both boats were assembled at the Factory in Iraq. The boats are fully equipped with all equipment required for patrol boat as well as civilian use.
															
															The 7.2m boat have 200 HP Suzuki engine making 30+ knots, solar panels, speaker system, toilet and sewage system, FW system, pantry, etc.
The 4.95m boat is equipped with 60HP Yamaha engine making 30+ knots.
On the first Day 19th July, the Prime Minister of Iraq H.E Eng Mohammed Shiaa has given the opening speech and visited the Iraqi Defence Industries Commission (DIC) pavilion at the exhibition. During his visit, he stopped at AZG booth and met with Mr. Ahmed Shaban, Chairman of Al Zaman Group.
															H.E Prime Minister is interested in the development of the Iraqi Industries and hence was impressed to see the progress of the Boat Factory and the models presented.
															Moreover, senior personnel from Turkish Ministry of Defence and CEO of ASFAT Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ibas met with Mr. Ahmed Shaban to discuss strategic projects in the region, where Mr. Cüneyt Deputy Chairman of AYDA (YDA) discussed the preparation of signing and MOU with AZG and to facilitate transition between Military and Business requirements.
In addition, senior personnel from embassies, military& governments of business relative countries including UK, USA, FRANCE, S.KOREA, TURKEY, etc visited our booth and plaque of appreciated was presented to them on the honour of their visit.
															
															
															
															On Fourth Day, 22nd April, Mr. Christophe Michell, CEO of IBBC (Iraq Britain Business Council) has visited AZG booth, since AZG is the chairman of IBBC Maritime Committee. AZG is promoting for Aluminium boat production with AMC UK and Fiberglass boat production in Iraq. Following the signing of the MOU between AZG and AMC in February 2025 in the presence of the Baroness Emma Nicholson of Winterbourne and Mr. Christophe Michells.
															
															The Iraqi Navy Commander Staff Vice Admiral Mazin Gubayan has visited AZG booth on the Fourth day and discussed potential future projects.
															
															During the exhibition, media channels were covering the exhibition including exhibitors products and up to date event activities. Mr. Abdullah Shaban, Executive Manager at AZG and Naval Architect Engineer has made several TV interviews with Famous Iraqi Channels, in which he mentioned about then successful participation of AZG in the exhibition especially this year and the huge impression by people on the displayed boats, he also mentioned about the new manufacturing production lines of Fiberglass and Aluminium boats in Iraq in cooperation with DIC.
															
															The exhibition was also opened for public after 12:00’ noon, in which civilians were allowed to see the products presented at the exhibition. Since the boats presented at AZG booth can be used for civilian use as well, many visitors were interested to make purchase.
AZG expect visitors to the factory to secure bespoke orders from official authorities for their boats needs.
