A significant milestone was celebrated today as the keel was officially laid for the highly anticipated 800TLC Floating Dock. The ceremony, attended by project partners, senior management, and distinguished guests from GCPI, marks the significant achievement of construction for one of the region’s most advanced floating dock unit.
Held at Pro Shipyard DGS, the keel laying ceremony represents a traditional and symbolic step in shipbuilding, signifying the beginning of the dock’s assembly and its journey toward completion. The Floating Dock is 141m long and 4 wide, with 8000 Tons Lifting capabilities aimed at supporting a wide range of marine maintenance and repair operations.
The successful keel laying reflects the close collaboration between Al Zaman Group, GCPI, and other key stakeholders, as they work together to bring this vital project to fruition.
The floating dock, engineered for efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability, will feature the latest technological systems, including Dock control system, ballast management system, etc.
