On 19th Sep 2024, the CEO of Al Zaman Group (Mr. Ahmed Shaban) has visited the project site of the fiberglass/ aluminium boats factory in Iraq near Baghdad. The project will include the main warehouse in which the construction of boats will take place, in addition to other buildings and facilities within such as Administration, show room, etc.
During the visit, a follow up made with quality control personnel who are supervising the work of foundation structure for the buildings.
Al Zaman Group is also the Exclusive Agent of Yanmar Engines in Iraq. This will facilitate the provide of services including maintenance and supply of spare parts for Yanmar Engines in Iraq. In addition, the Boat’s factory will include a workshop for maintenance of Yanmar engines and operation. Small to medium size engines can be deployed onboard new build boats, knowing that warranty and after sales services are available locally.
In addition, a meeting was held with the Director General of Military Industries Company Mr. Naseer Nayef Latif (Manager of Badir Factory/ State Company for Military Industries) to discuss the project and factory construction progress as well as future work and services that will be provided by Al Zaman Group to end user. The Boat Factory project will be supported by companies from the UK, Japan, South Korea and Turkey. We focus on transferring technology and modern methodology of boat building to Iraq as well as providing training programs and courses. Moreover, discussions were made during the meeting to develop multinational cooperation for boat building and training.
